Product Development & E-commerce Officer
Oversees the entire product lifecycle for an online business, from product ideation to managing its performance on e-commerce platforms. It is a highly cross-functional role that blends market research, logistics, product management, and digital marketing to drive online sales and growth.
Product strategy and development
- Market research: Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and customer behavior to identify new product opportunities or improvements.
- Product lifecycle management: Manage products from the initial concept and development through their launch and eventual discontinuation.
- Product roadmap: Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, and prioritize features and enhancements based on business impact and customer feedback.
- Pricing strategy: Work with sales and marketing teams to establish pricing strategies that remain competitive while achieving margin goals.
- Vendor and supplier management: Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure a cost-effective and high-quality product pipeline.
E-commerce platform management
- Platform optimization: Oversee day-to-day operations and management of the e-commerce platform (e.g., Zalora, Lazada).
- Product listings: Manage and optimize product listings, including writing engaging descriptions, ensuring accurate pricing, and uploading high-quality images.
- Inventory management: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstocking. This may involve collaborating with warehousing and logistics teams.
- Website maintenance: Ensure the website runs smoothly by troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating with Zalora and Lazada to implement new features or upgrades.
Marketing and analytics
- Digital marketing: Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute promotional campaigns, manage product launches, and create engaging digital content.
- SEO: Implement SEO best practices to ensure product listings are visible in search results and drive organic traffic.
- Performance monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, conversion rates, and website traffic, to inform business decisions and identify opportunities.
- Customer feedback analysis: Review customer feedback and product reviews to identify areas for improvement and guide product innovation.
Administrative support
- Financial management: Track project budgets, analyze sales data, and present performance reports to stakeholders.
- Cross-functional communication: Act as a liaison between different teams, including VM, marketing, merchandising and operations to ensure product initiatives are aligned and executed successfully.
- Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular reports on product performance and project status to management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is often required.
- Proven experience in e-commerce, product management, or digital marketing, with familiarity with e-commerce platforms like Zalora and Lazada.
- Strong ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and performance metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to oversee complex projects, manage timelines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- A proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable mindset to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic online retail environment.
- Must be residing in Manila or willing to be assigned in this area.
