Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Private Markets Specialist to support administration, accounting, reporting, and operations across private debt, private equity, and other alternatives.

You will work with investment teams, finance, custodians, fund administrators, and external partners to ensure accurate processing, robust controls, and timely client deliverables. Strong data management and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Management, or related discipline.
• Experience in Private Markets, Fund Accounting, Alternative Investments, Investment Operations, Financial Reporting, Asset Management, Banking, or Financial Services.
• Experience with private debt, private equity, senior loans, mortgages, fixed income, or other alternatives is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of investment operations, fund accounting, and financial reporting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office apps.
• Experience with reporting/visualization/workflow tools such as Power BI and PowerApps is advantageous.
• Familiarity with investment accounting and fund administration platforms (e.g., Investran, SimCorp, Workiva, Yardi, DealGen, SCD).
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and data management skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and monitor investment transactions, including capital calls, distributions, and trade settlements.
• Support onboarding and maintenance of investment and security master data across systems.
• Coordinate with custodians, administrators, and partners to ensure timely processing.
• Monitor and resolve operational discrepancies in investment records.
• Maintain investment data to support reporting requirements.
• Assist with NAV oversight, fund accounting reviews, and portfolio accounting processes.
• Prepare financial reports, management reports, and client deliverables.
• Support governance, regulatory, and management reporting requirements.
• Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
• Participate in automation, technology enhancements, and process improvements.
