About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Security Architect to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote, remote-first position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within Mexico. You will be instrumental in shaping and evolving the security posture of our client's cloud and infrastructure environments. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep technical knowledge, capable of designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions that protect critical assets and sensitive data. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and product teams to embed security best practices throughout the development lifecycle and operational processes. As a Principal Security Architect, you will lead initiatives, mentor junior team members, and drive the adoption of cutting-edge security technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement comprehensive security architectures for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure. Define security standards, policies, and procedures for infrastructure and application development. Conduct security risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analyses. Develop and oversee the implementation of security controls for network, endpoint, data, and application security. Lead security incident response planning and execution. Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools to enhance the security posture. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure coding practices and integrate security into CI/CD pipelines. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to security and engineering teams. Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies. Develop and maintain security documentation, including architecture diagrams, playbooks, and compliance reports.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in information security, with a significant focus on security architecture and design. Extensive experience designing and securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Deep understanding of network security principles, cryptography, identity and access management (IAM), and data protection. Experience with security automation, SIEM, SOAR, and vulnerability management tools. Proven experience in threat modeling and risk assessment methodologies. Excellent understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) principles. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP) are highly desirable. Experience working in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
