Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP developer to join the SAP Development team in a fast-paced, international environment in Metro Manila. You will design and implement ABAP-based applications for ECC and S/4, collaborate with business and IT, and contribute to ongoing innovation and operational stability.

The role requires strong SAP development skills (ABAP/4, ABAP OO, CDS, OData, Forms and Interfaces), plus exposure to SAPUI5, Fiori Freestyle and RESTful APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years professional SAP development experience (end-to-end implementation and support).
• Extensive core SAP development capabilities: ABAP/4, ABAP OO, CDS, OData, Forms and Interfaces (ALE/IDoc, SOAP).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Fiori Elements, Fiori Freestyle (SAPUI5, JS) and SAP tools is a plus.
• Ability to work in an international English-speaking team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver solutions in SAP landscapes, designing and implementing business logic and backend services for ECC and S/4.
• Collaborate with business contributors and IT to translate requirements into solutions with documented code and tests.
• Support SAP deployment projects and hypercare, troubleshoot incidents to ensure stability.
• Mentor teammates, perform code reviews, promote best practices in development.
• Coordinate with architects, SAP developers and external vendors to maintain IT landscape stability.

The Position

Join our SAP Development team is looking for an experienced, technology focused and team-oriented SAP ABAP developer, capable with classic and modern development methods. Skilled to provide cutting-edge IT support and innovation for the development ABAP-based applications for industry specific use-cases. In this challenging and exciting role, you will be working closely with the development team and the business to translate requirements into designing solutions and to assist with their implementations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Solution delivery in SAP landscapes, programming languages and frameworks to design and implement business logic, backend services and architecture for classic ECC and S/4
• Work hand in hand with business contributors, process experts and IT functional consultant to develop applications leveraging high-quality code based on defined user stories, including unit/integration tests and code documentation of suitable quality for the product increments in rapid iterations
• Support SAP deployment projects and hyper care phases, troubleshooting and resolving incidents to provide operational stability to the applications
• Provide guidance to team members towards continuous upskilling of coding capabilities, code review, mentoring and ensuring best practices during development
• Interact closely with solution architects and business consultants from the SAP Development to devise system architecture and decide on suitable technology standards. Actively collaborate with IT service teams, research units, and external vendors to ensure operational service stability and maintenance of our IT system landscape for our business area

Requirements:

• You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
• You have proven professional experience of at least 5 years in SAP development; end to end implementation and support
• You have extensive experience in core SAP development capabilities such as ABAP/4, ABAP OO, CDS, OData, Forms and Interfaces (ALE/IDoc, SOAP)
• You have skills toward RESTful API, Fiori Elements and Fiori Freestyle (SAPUI5, JS), Eclipse ADT and SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) are a plus
• You have the capability to work well in an international English team-based environment as well as on your own.
