Job summary

RED Engineering is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to design and optimize data centre power networks, performing simulations and analysis to improve reliability and efficiency.

Candidates should be proficient with ETAP (preferred) and familiar with DigSilent or SKM, plus Load Flow, Short Circuit, Protection Coordination, Arc Flash and Harmonics studies; HV up to 132 kV exposure. Hybrid work options in Metro Manila are available and encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
• Proven experience in power systems engineering, preferably within the data centre industry.
• Proficiency in simulation software, particularly ETAP (preferred), DigSilent, or SKM.
• Experience with Load Flow, Short Circuit Analysis, Protection Coordination, Arc Flash, Harmonic Studies, and Underground Cable Sizing.
• Experience in performing Transient Stability Studies is desirable.
• Experience in performing Earthing Studies is desirable.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the models of main electrical machines, including but not limited to generators, transformers, motors and UPS.
• Experience in both LV and MV systems, ideally HV up to 132 kV.
• Strong knowledge of power systems control and SCADA systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Run load flow analyses for optimal data centre power distribution.
• Perform short circuit analyses to assess fault conditions.
• Coordinate protection schemes to improve reliability and safety.
• Conduct arc flash studies to meet safety standards.
• Perform harmonic studies to minimize power quality issues.
• Collaborate with design teams on project requirements.
• Assist in evaluating electrical equipment for power distribution.
• Knowledge of transient stability studies is advantageous.
