Job summary

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer to bridge design engineering and manufacturing for PSU products. You will ensure performance, quality, and delivery from development to production, reporting to the Product Engineering Manager.

You will characterize PSU performance, calibrate and test, troubleshoot root causes, and work with design teams to improve reliability and implement design changes. Strong testing, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in power electronics.
• Proven track record in hardware engineering and power supply design, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with laboratory and test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, electronic loads, power analyzers, logic analyzers).
• Experience in PCB design and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for power supply design and testing.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Characterize PSU performance across operating conditions.
• Calibrate and test PSU, assist test engineering in procedures.
• Troubleshoot and root-cause analysis for power supplies in factory and field.
• Collaborate with design engineers to implement changes for reliability/performance.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and customers.
• Perform hardware testing: functional tests, signal characterization, power modeling, coexistence testing.
• Write test reports with observations and conclusions.
• Analyze failure data to identify trends and improve reliability.
• Develop mitigation plans with production teams to prevent failures.
• Evaluate alternative components meeting specifications.
• Review and approve change requests for power supply designs.
