Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing fixtures and systems in domestic, commercial, and industrial settings to ensure proper functionality and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections and fixtures in walls and floors using blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate installation and placement.
- Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using a variety of hand and power tools to ensure precise dimensions and fittings for seamless integration into existing systems.
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges and diagnose and troubleshoot issues to maintain system integrity and prevent potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations by following established protocols and practices and actively contributing to a safe work environment for all personnel.
- Collaborate with team members on various tasks while sharing knowledge and skills to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in completing plumbing projects.
- Respond to plumbing emergencies as needed and demonstrate quick thinking and problem-solving abilities to address urgent situations and minimize disruption.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition by regularly inspecting and servicing them to prolong their lifespan and ensure safe operation on the job site.
- Document work performed and materials used while maintaining accurate records for project management and future reference to aid in accountability and planning.
- Assist with other duties as required by demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on various tasks to support the overall success of the Facilities Inspection project.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction field
- Plumbing NC II certificate in plumbing is mandatory
- Familiarity with manual and power tools
- Ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing 50 pounds or more
