A reputable chemical manufacturing company is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee various operational aspects, including manufacturing, production planning, and logistics. The role requires a graduate of BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with extensive experience in managing operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and leading efficiency initiatives. This position is crucial for steering the company's operational strategy and achieving customer satisfaction.
Job Requirements
Education: Graduate of BS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Work Experience: With at least five (5) to ten (10) years experience in a chemical manufacturing set up. Ability to manage conflicts and monitors day to day manufacturing activities Demonstrated broad understanding of plant and manufacturing processes
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs the Operations division of the company from Manufacturing, Production Planning, Warehouse & Logistics, Engineering & Maintenance and ensures that end- result of processes conform to customers’ requirements, as well as the established Integrated Quality, Environment, Health & Safety and Sustainability Management Systems Management System.
Ensures that the EHS and Sustainability Programs of the company are implemented and adhered to by all Operations employees in the company sites. Implements relevant programs to support Corporate EHSS directives.
Plans and develops Operational Efficiency initiatives / measures and ensures they are implemented, monitored, and continuously improved.
Develops the objectives of the Operations division and the specific departments under it and ensures their implementation. Objectives shall be interlinked and geared towards customer satisfaction to help achieve the set targets of the company.
Responsible for ensuring that set objectives of each department are met through KPI monitoring. Implements measures to ensure that KPI’s are achieved. Responsible for the efficient workflow of the specific departments under Operations, including ensuring effective communication and collaboration amongst each team and other inter-phasing departments.
Responsible for conducting regular Operations meetings to ensure that concerns are addressed, and updates are communicated to concerned departments.
Attends Management meetings regularly and submits reports on a monthly basis to the GM, or whenever presence/report submittal is required by the General Manager. Actively participates as member of the Executive Committee. Helps develop short-term and long-term strategies aligned to help achieve company goals and targets. Supports management decisions and directions.
Prepares annual budget for capital investments in collaboration with Engineering and Maintenance, as well as other concerned departments; control expenses based on approved budget. Develops and directs projects for innovation and improvement of the factory and its machines/equipment, geared towards sustainability of the business, in collaboration with concerned department heads.
Manages Expansion projects for the company. Leads the testing, commissioning and turn-over of projects.
Ensures that competency of personnel under specific departments of the division are adequate. Develops programs to increase competency levels of personnel under the division.
Provides avenue to all department personnel to air suggestions for the improvement of plant operations and support feasible, economic and relevant projects.
