Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Architecture.
• Must be Registered Architect with at least 5 years of working experience in an architectural design firm handling retail, office, hotel, residential and mixed-use design projects.
• Preferably with exposure to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) projects.

Responsibilities

• Assists in Design Management of new projects and leads in producing architectural drawings for small in-house projects.
• Collaborates with project proponents to gather requirements, conduct feasibility studies, site evaluation and master planning; coordinates with a team of design professionals, suppliers and contractors.
• Prepares sketches and creates architectural designs using CAD; prepares weekly internal reports and maintains records; ensures compliance with building codes and regulations.
• Creates initial architectural design concepts, layouts, and 2D/3D digital renderings for in-house projects; develops design guidelines as required by Planning & Design Head.
• Coordinates with Construction Management and Property Management to identify and resolve design and operational issues; conducts site inspections to ensure adherence to approved design.

Job description

The Planning and Design officer will assist in the Design Management of new projects and will lead in the production of architectural drawings for small in-house projects. He / She must be technologically inclined and has natural flair for business, the Planning and Design Architect shall play a key role in each project’s conceptualization up to completion.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Management:

• Provides assistance to immediate supervisor & department head on the following:
• Collaboration with project proponents to gather and define their project requirements, goals and objectives: (i) Conduct feasibility studies, site evaluation and master planning; (ii) Coordination with a team of design professionals, suppliers and contractors
• Prepares sketches and create architectural designs using CAD
• Prepares weekly internal reports and maintains records
• Stays up-to-date with building codes, zoning laws and other regulations

In-House Design

• Creates initial architectural design concepts, layout plans, and prepare 2D / 3D digital renderings to convey ideas for in-house projects
• Prepares building design guidelines or other standards as required by Planning & Design Head

Other tasks

• Coordinates with the Construction Management and Property Management Departments in identifying and resolving design and operational issues
• Provides assistance on drawing requirements of Business Development and Leasing Management Departments
• Conducts site inspections to ensure projects were implemented based on approved design

JOB PROFILE

Educational Background

• Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Architecture

Professional Background

• Must be Registered Architect
• Must have at least 5 years of working experience in an Architectural Design Firm handling retail, office, hotel, residential and mixed-use Design Projects
• Preferably with exposure to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Projects

Knowledge Requirements

• Must be knowledgeable in zoning Laws & Building Codes: Deep understanding of local and international codes
• Must be knowledgeable in conceptualizing design & ideation, preparing initial plans, massing, perspectives, material palettes and mood boards; Must be adept in utilizing AI tools to assist on tasks
• Must have working knowledge in building materials and construction techniques
• Must have a good grasp of architectural history and prevailing design trends
