Responsibilities

• Verifies patient’s information.
• Assesses patient’s test requests to ensure no discrepancies, missing or duplicates in the test order.
• Verifies patient’s diet restrictions including intake of drugs and interviews patient’s medical history and symptoms.
• Reassures patients if they are nervous or distressed and clearly explains the procedure.
• Obtains blood specimens by performing proper venipuncture and skin puncture techniques.
