Job Description
Dispensing Medications:
- Accurately dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and potential drug interactions.
- Ensure proper labeling and instructions for patient use.
- Provide guidance on medication usage, dosages, and possible side effects.
- Educate patients on drug interactions and lifestyle adjustments.
- Address customer concerns and answer medication-related questions.
Inventory and Compliance:
- Maintain stock levels and check for expired medications.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Keep accurate records of prescriptions and controlled substances.
Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals:
- Work with doctors and nurses to optimize patient treatment plans.
- Recommend alternative medications when necessary.
- Monitor patient health and provide follow-up care if required.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BSPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- License: Must be a licensed pharmacist.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of drug interactions, dosage calculations, and medical conditions.
- Communication Skills: Ability to explain complex medical information to patients clearly.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in dispensing medications and reviewing prescriptions.
- Patient-focused and compassionate.
- Organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ethical and committed to ensuring medication safety.
- English language proficiency; analytical skills; knowledge of chemicals and hazardous materials management.
