The People Advisor provides expert advice and support to employees and managers on HR-related issues, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment law. This role focuses on resolving employee queries, handling employee relations, and supporting the execution of HR strategies and programs across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Act as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and concerns.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Handle employee grievances and disputes, offering advice on best practices for resolution and ensuring that issues are managed in line with company policies.

HR Policies and Procedures

  • Advise and support managers in implementing HR policies and practices.
  • Ensure that company policies are up-to-date and comply with labor laws and best practices.
  • Educate employees and managers on HR policies and procedures to promote consistency and fairness across the organization

Talent Management Support

  • Support the recruitment process by providing advice on job descriptions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into the company.
  • Provide guidance on employee development initiatives, including performance appraisals, career progression, and training opportunities.

Training and Development

  • Identify training and development needs across the organization and provide support for training initiatives.
  • Assist with the delivery of HR-related training sessions, such as compliance, performance management, and employee engagement.

HR Admin Support

  • Manage HR records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis on HR metrics, such as employee turnover, retention, and absence rates.
  • Support the execution of HR projects and initiatives as needed, including compensation and benefits administration.

Compliance and Legal Support

  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, including health and safety regulations, equal opportunities, and employee rights.
  • Advise managers and employees on legal matters related to employment, including contracts, termination, and redundancy.
  • Keep up to date with changes in labor laws and HR best practices, and ensure these are reflected in company policies and procedures

Performance Management

  • Support managers with performance management processes, including setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and addressing underperformance.
  • Provide guidance on handling disciplinary processes and supporting employees with development plans when needed.

Employee Engagement

  • Assist in developing and promoting initiatives to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Conduct employee surveys and provide feedback to management on the results, suggesting improvements where necessary.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Human Resources or People Advisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR software (e.g., Workday, SAP).
