Job summary

Manpower is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the Global HR Shared Services team and manage end-to-end payroll operations for the US and UK markets. This role requires hands-on US/UK payroll experience and familiarity with HR processes and tax reporting.

The successful candidate will work with HR, Finance, Legal, and global stakeholders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and payroll process improvements through automation. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any field.
  • 1–5 years of relevant payroll experience.
  • Proven hands-on experience in US or UK Payroll Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and the employee lifecycle.
  • Solid understanding of payroll reconciliations.
  • Experience with statutory reporting and payroll-related compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems, automation, and ticketing tools.
  • Knowledge of Oracle.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes for employees across the US or UK, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Perform pre- and post-payroll data reconciliations and review payroll reports.
  • Handle salary changes for exempt and non-exempt employees, including mass salary, job changes, and promotions.
  • Prepare statutory reports and issue tax statements.
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors and service providers regarding payroll activities, system updates, and issue resolution.
  • Support payroll audits and internal controls while ensuring data integrity.
  • Monitor applicable payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor legislation.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, Legal, tax advisors, benefits providers, and other global stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes through automation, efficiency, and best practices.
  • Create and maintain process maps and documentation.

What We’re Looking For

All of the following are required for consideration:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any field

An advantage: Project Management or Lean/Six Sigma certification.

This is a specialized payroll position. Only candidates who meet all mandatory qualifications, particularly the required US or UK Payroll Operations experience, will be shortlisted.
