Your Role

As an Accounts and Payroll Officer, you are responsible for:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the CFO in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Coordinate with auditors during financial audits and ensure the timely submission of required documentation.
  • Oversee the processing of payroll for all employees across the Locale Property Group brands, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Maintain payroll records and manage employee benefits, deductions, and tax filings.
  • Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees and provide support on related matters.
  • Process and track invoices, payments, and receipts for all companies within the Locale Property Group.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Support the CFO in managing cash flow and ensuring timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency across accounting and payroll systems.
  • Work closely with the CFO and Managing Director to implement new tools, technologies, or procedures that improve workflow and accuracy.
  • Ensure all financial processes comply with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Assist in providing financial information and data to the CFO and Managing Director to support decision-making.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address financial inquiries and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or payroll role, preferably in a property, finance, or real estate environment.
  • Can have local accounting or payroll experience, but have experience in using XERO.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and payroll regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero - ideally, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive and continuous improvement mindset, focused on driving efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
