Goodwork is seeking a remote Patient Service Representative to handle live scheduling calls and be the first voice patients hear. You will manage calls, schedule appointments in our EMR, verify insurance, and coordinate referrals across two offices.
Expect 60-120 daily calls and future growth to online bookings and referrals. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in healthcare administration, a warm phone presence, and clear communication.
We're a locally owned, physician-led dermatology practice in the United States, with care always led by board-certified dermatologists. Our mission: excellent patient care.
We offer medical dermatology (skin cancer screenings, acne, eczema, rashes, and more), cosmetic dermatology (non-invasive treatments for natural, healthy skin), and care for every age, from pediatric to senior — across two clinic locations.
We serve the greater St. Louis, Missouri community: families and individuals at our main office in Des Peres, MO, and a more rural patient base at our satellite clinic in Sullivan, a small town about an hour outside the city, where we're on-site about twice a month.
We started with three full-time physicians and are growing to six providers as three more join us this year. Revenue has grown alongside that expansion, and every physician on our team has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor by their peers nationally.
guide our team and shape our culture:
We're an in-person practice with a remote support team. Our team includes one Office Manager , one Assistant Manager , three Owner-Physicians , and two remote Virtual Assistants — with additional in-office staff, including Schedulers and Medical Assistants , providing further support. We're headquartered in Des Peres, Missouri, with a satellite clinic in Sullivan.
Our team moves fast, but always with each other's support — leaning on one another when call volume spikes, and growing together as the practice expands, with people stepping into trainer and lead roles along the way.

We're looking for a remote Patient Service Representative to manage live patient scheduling calls and serve as the first voice patients hear when they reach our practice.
You’ll handle incoming calls, schedule appointments in our EMR system, verify insurance eligibility, and coordinate referrals across our two office locations. We field 60-120 calls a day, and this role exists to relieve pressure on our scheduling team during that volume - your job is to catch patients on the first try so none of them leave a voicemail and move on to the next office.
As you grow into the role, your responsibilities will expand to include processing online bookings and managing referrals from outside providers.
brings 3-5 years of healthcare administration experience - though we'd rather hire for attitude and coachability than a longer resume. You have a natural warmth on the phone that puts patients at ease, and you communicate clearly enough that patients feel understood the first time, without repeating themselves. You notice what needs attention before anyone points it out, and you ask when something isn't clear. More than anything, you make people feel like they're not carrying it alone - you lean on your team, you let them lean on you, and you're looking for a place to grow, not just pass through.
Your performance will be measured by call volume handled, customer service quality, consistent attendance, and your ability to seek clarification proactively when needed.
You’ll work closely with two other Schedulers. This position reports directly to the Office Manager and Assistant Manager.
You’ll be doing things like:
Bonus if you also have:
Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM CT (Central Time), with an early close at 3:30 PM on Fridays. Adjusts with Daylight Saving Time.
Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week), Exclusivity Preferred
Education: No formal education required; relevant work experience in healthcare administration and demonstrated communication skills are what matter here.
Level: Intermediate (3-5 years of relevant work experience)
Compensation: ~USD $877-1,036 (55K-65K PHP) per month, based on experience. Structured as a Consultant Agreement (independent contractor), meaning you'll be responsible for your own taxes, benefits, and insurance.
