Job summary

Copeland in Quezon City, Philippines is seeking a Patent Analyst at Engineer 2 level to perform patentability and invalidity assessments, develop search strategies, and monitor patent activity in HVACR domains.

You will prepare summaries and reports for Legal, R&D and business teams, support invention disclosures, and conduct landscape and FTO analyses in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/College degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Environmental/Health/Safety) or related field.
• 3–5 years experience in R&D, quality control, product/design/process engineering.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking with excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patentability and invalidity assessments by performing comprehensive prior art searches.
• Develop and refine search strategies, keywords, and classification queries aligned with business priorities.
• Monitor and track newly published and granted patents relevant to business interests and risks.
• Prepare clear patent summaries, abstracts, and reports for stakeholders (Legal, R&D, business teams).
• Support engineering/R&D teams in identifying patentable innovations and drafting invention disclosures.
