The Wilder is a creative studio which creates art and experiences for people to learn about nature, to connect with each other, and to inspire creativity. We produce events, winter festivals, and create art installations and event activations, and we love storytelling through our creations and amplifying artists and creative opportunities in BC and beyond. Check out our creations at www.thewilder.ca and @thewilder.experience . From a memorial to biodiversity loss, giant inflatable weatherscape, to glowing enchanted forests, we love creating art and experiences and working collaboratively with other creatives and artists that create moments of wonder, that are highly collaborative and accessible to the general public.
We are looking for someone to work with us to support a new winter festival. We are looking for someone CURRENTLY based in Victoria, BC, who has event management experience, experience within creative industries is an asset, to be our on-the-ground Partnerships and Event Coordinator for the new light art festival, which occurs in February 2026.
We are looking for someone to work remotely around 20 hours per week with more hours surrounding the event. The hours are flexible, require some weekend work, a lot of flexibility as each week will be different and the hours will increase as we approach the event. Ideally the Coordinator will have good connections within the event and/or creative industry, be able to represent The Wilder professionally, and support with all of the behind-the-scenes logistical work as we develop and execute the festival.
There are opportunities to get involved deeply in our work and the event, and we expect the candidate to work on some or all of the following tasks:
· Pre-event work from arranging advertising and sponsorship contracts, to securing vendors, partners and sponsors, permits etc
· Event administration - artist contracts, compiling event documentation, keeping track of schedules, contracts, reporting
· Event production - setting up activations, event zones
· Event coordination, logistics, volunteer and staff coordination
· Site setup safety management, technical support, troubleshooting, being everywhere at once
We are looking for someone to join our team who possesses some of the following skills and interests:
· Creative, artistic (desirable but not essential)
· Has a positive and can-do attitude, and who loves learning and thinking outside the box
· Must have a flexible work schedule as we will be busier closer to the event, and can align working time with our Director’s work days and work virtually with the team regularly
· Operate independently with motivation and drive, reporting to our Director but taking on projects and tasks independently and sticking to deadlines and managing your own workload
· Can manage multiple tasks, making sure our events and activations run seamlessly, who can solve problems and adapt on the fly
· Event experience is absolutely essential
· Must be based in Victoria, BC
· Must be able to work from home and have your own phone and computer, access to internet
· University degree in management, arts, business, or other
Apply now!
We expect that the candidate will earn approximately $25-$30 per hour depending on their experience, and a fluctuating schedule from 10 - 40 hours per week depending on the time, and be on site for each night of our winter event. They will work remotely, and must be based in Victoria. We aim to create a positive, open learning environment where our team can shine and grow through our initiatives and we are flexible about who we take on as we love diverse skills and interests so we welcome applications from candidates who may fit some of the above but not everything.
