Orderly – Job Description

The Orderly is responsible for performing the basic patient care procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. He contributes to the delivery of safe patient care by rendering comfort measures, transporting patients, doing errands for the unit like picking up/ delivering medicines, medical supplies and patient specimens, performing proper care utilities and medical equipment, performing routine housekeeping chores in the nursing station, medication and treatment rooms. He may also assist in taking care of patients except in the provision of intimate care.

Qualifications (minimum):

• Has completed at least two (2) years of College education OR a Senior High School graduate with National Certificate (NCII).
• At least 1–2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
• Possesses current Heart Savers Certificate is an advantage but not required.
• Must have completed a course / training on the proper lifting of patients.
• Has a very good sense of customer service.
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications.
• Good communication skills. Proficiency in the Visayan dialect and/or Tagalog is required; English is an advantage.

Job Duties & Responsibilities (illustrative):
