Job summary

DXC Manila IPC McKinley Hill is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to join our team for managing and tuning Oracle databases across multiple projects. You will design schemas, implement backups, and support developers with efficient data access.

The role requires strong experience with Oracle RMAN, RAC/ASM, and SQL/PLSQL in a UNIX/Linux environment. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, migration and upgrade to 19c+.
• UNIX/Linux environment administration of Oracle databases.
• UNIX/Linux scripting knowledge is important.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
• Experience with RMAN, RAC, ASM and data-warehouse modelling desired.

Responsibilities

• Migrate objects and code between non-production databases with developers and users.
• Design and build databases, schemas, and stored procedures.
• Set up backup and disaster recovery procedures and scripts.
• Perform database recoveries and ensure connectivity from client apps.
• Provide guidance to junior DBAs on complex tasks.
• Coordinate with project teams across multidisciplinary groups.

We're Hiring: Oracle Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Work with developers and users to migrate objects and code between non production databases.
• Design and build databases, schemas, stored procedures, and other databaseobjects.
• Set up routine database backup procedures and disaster recovery procedures.
• Perform database recoveries.
• Assist developers and end-users with database usage, query development, andtuning.
• Develop operating system scripts to automate backups, data transfers, monitoring, etc.
• Support database connectivity from client applications.
• Design and implement database security schemas.
• Provides direction to less senior DBA’s. Assists associate and intermediate DBAs with complex database tasks.
• Position will involve the database portion of various projects ranging from the installation of new packaged applications to the development of custom databases for in house developed applications. Project teams will be composed of multi disciplinary teams including business analysts, systems analysts, programmers, and client users.
• Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of database administration.
• Have a good working experience in Oracle Core DBA Architecture, Backups/Recovery and Performance tuning exercise.
• Experience in Coordinating and working with Clients to understand the business requirement and design the architecture, accordingly, resolve issues if any.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, migration and upgradation to 19c and higher versions.
• Must have extensive knowledge of administering Oracle databases in a UNIX or LINUX environment.
• UNIX/LINUX scripting knowledge is important.
• Thorough knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL will be add-on.
• Knowledge of logical, physical, and data-warehouse modelling is desired.
• Must have strong team bonding skills.
• Must have the ability to think logically and design applications.
• Extensive experience performing RDBMS software installation, database creation, database sizing, establishment of backup and recovery procedures and scripts, database performance tuning.
• Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Suitable experience will substitute.
• 6 to 8 years overall experience.
• Must have experience with Oracle RMAN.
• Must have experience with ORACLE RAC and ASM.
