Job summary

DXC Technology Inc. in Manila is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to design, implement and optimize Oracle databases across production and non-production environments.

The role requires strong RMAN, RAC/ASM, UNIX/Linux scripting, and deep experience with backups, recovery, and performance tuning to support enterprise applications. Collaborative teams across developers, analysts and clients will value your ability to translate requirements into robust database solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; suitable experience can substitute.
• Extensive knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, migration/upgrade to 19c+.
• Experience administering Oracle databases in UNIX/Linux environments.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL knowledge; scripting skills are important.
• RAC/ASM experience and backup/recovery procedures required.
• Ability to design systems and coordinate with clients on architecture.

Responsibilities

• Migrate objects and code between non-production databases.
• Design and build databases, schemas, and stored procedures.
• Set up routine backups and disaster recovery procedures.
• Perform database recoveries and tuning with developers.
• Develop OS scripts to automate backups and monitoring.
• Ensure database connectivity for client applications.
• Define and implement database security schemas.
• Provide guidance to junior DBAs and assist complex tasks.
• Collaborate on projects across multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with developers and users to migrate objects and code between non production databases.
• Design and build databases, schemas, stored procedures, and other database objects.
• Set up routine database backup procedures and disaster recovery procedures.
• Perform database recoveries.
• Assist developers and end-users with database usage, query development, and tuning.
• Develop operating system scripts to automate backups, data transfers, monitoring, etc.
• Support database connectivity from client applications.
• Design and implement database security schemas.
• Provides direction to less senior DBA's. Assists associate and intermediate DBAs with complex database tasks.
• Position will involve the database portion of various projects ranging from the installation of new packaged applications to the development of custom databases for in house developed applications. Project teams will be composed of multi disciplinary teams including business analysts, systems analysts, programmers, and client users.
• Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of database administration.
• Have a good working experience in Oracle Core DBA Architecture, Backups/Recovery and Performance tuning exercise.
• Experience in Coordinating and working with Clients to understand the business requirement and design the architecture, accordingly, resolve issues if any.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive knowledge of Oracle RDBMS , migration and upgradation to 19c and higher versions.
• Must have extensive knowledge of administering Oracle databases in a UNIX or LINUX environment.
• UNIX/LINUX scripting knowledge is important.
• Thorough knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL will be add-on.
• Knowledge of logical, physical, and data-warehouse modelling is desired.
• Must have strong team bonding skills
• Must have the ability to think logically and design applications
• Extensive experience performing RDBMS software installation, database creation, database sizing, establishment of backup and recovery procedures and scripts, database performance tuning.

Experience

• Bachelor's Degree preferred. Suitable experience will substitute.
• 6 to 8 years overall experience
• Must have experience with Oracle RMAN
• Must have experience with ORACLE RAC and ASM.
