Job summary

Asian Eye Institute in Makati City (Rockwell) is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support ophthalmic care under a supervising Ophthalmic Nurse. You will assist clinicians, prepare patients, help with eye drops, and participate in cataract screening and vital signs checks.

The role also includes ensuring proper documentation, infection control, and smooth patient flow within the clinic. Training and benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a technical-vocational course in allied health services or a related medical field.
• Preferably 1–2 years of experience in a hospital or eye clinic setting.
• Willing to be assigned in Makati City (Rockwell).
• Good communication skills.
• Capable of performing basic patient care, including measuring and recording vital signs, assisting with mobility, and administering medications.

Responsibilities

• Attends to the patient’s and doctor’s clinic needs during the clinical exam and prepares patients in the diagnostic room.
• Instills eye drops, assists with tests, prepares prescriptions, and measures IOPs with Tonopen or iCare.
• Performs cataract screening using Specular Microscopy, IOL Master and Contact Biometry; maintains infection control.
• Discharges patients and supports in-clinic admin and patient flow coordination.
• Maintains patient records, PDAS, and coordinates with labs and benefits coordinators.
