Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction
• Bachelor's degree preferred in accounting or related field
• Proficient in Excel and data manipulation
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
• Process and monitor Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
• Review vendor invoices, purchase orders, receipts, and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Assist with job costing by properly assigning expenses, labor, materials, and other costs to construction projects.
• Track project expenses against budgets and identify discrepancies or unusual variances.
• Prepare and process customer invoices, progress billings, and related documentation.
• Assist with collections and follow up on outstanding receivables.
• Perform bank, credit card, vendor, and account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain accurate records of construction contracts, change orders, retainage, deposits, and project-related transactions.
• Support preparation of financial reports, job-cost reports, and project profitability reports.
• Review transactions for proper coding and allocation to the appropriate project, cost category, or general ledger account.
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, clients, and internal accounting teams to resolve billing and accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with payroll-related accounting and labor cost tracking when required.
• Ensure accounting records and documentation are complete, organized, and audit-ready.
• Follow established accounting policies, internal controls, and client procedures.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
