JOB SUMMARY
Performs clinical evaluation and procedures to patients referred for occupational therapy. Acts as a Clinical Supervisor - supervises the training, evaluation and performance of UST Occupational Therapy Interns undergoing Clinical Internship at the A. Mabini Rehabilitation Center.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
REGULAR DUTIES
- Performs occupational therapy procedures to patients referred for physical therapy.
- Performs documentation such as initial evaluation, interim notes and discharge summary, formulates and implements approved treatment plans. Updates progress notes of all patients under his care.
- Schedules treatment of patients under his care.
- Obtain patients’ informed consent to proposed intervention
- Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Fabricates splints, slings, and other assistive devices.
- Ensures maintenance and safekeeping of equipment, tools, materials and supplies for the Occupational Therapy Section.
- Informs Rehabilitation Technician and Aides of in-patients referred for occupational therapy who have to be transported to and from the Department.
- Supervises the training of occupational therapy interns.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
OCCASIONAL OR SPECIAL DUTIES
- Evaluates performance of Occupational Therapy Interns under his supervision.
- Assists the Chief Occupational Therapist in the preparation of the annual budget for the Occupational Therapy Section.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a Licensed Occupational Therapist
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
- Instructing and coaching skills
- Customer service-oriented
