JOB SUMMARY

Performs clinical evaluation and procedures to patients referred for occupational therapy. Acts as a Clinical Supervisor - supervises the training, evaluation and performance of UST Occupational Therapy Interns undergoing Clinical Internship at the A. Mabini Rehabilitation Center.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

REGULAR DUTIES

1. Performs occupational therapy procedures to patients referred for physical therapy.
2. Performs documentation such as initial evaluation, interim notes and discharge summary, formulates and implements approved treatment plans. Updates progress notes of all patients under his care.
3. Schedules treatment of patients under his care.
4. Obtain patients’ informed consent to proposed intervention
5. Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
6. Fabricates splints, slings, and other assistive devices.
7. Ensures maintenance and safekeeping of equipment, tools, materials and supplies for the Occupational Therapy Section.
8. Informs Rehabilitation Technician and Aides of in-patients referred for occupational therapy who have to be transported to and from the Department.
9. Supervises the training of occupational therapy interns.
10. Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

OCCASIONAL OR SPECIAL DUTIES

1. Evaluates performance of Occupational Therapy Interns under his supervision.
2. Assists the Chief Occupational Therapist in the preparation of the annual budget for the Occupational Therapy Section.
