The Network & Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the administration, support, and continuous improvement of Carenet's enterprise network and hybrid infrastructure environments. This role ensures secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity across on-premises and cloud-based platforms while supporting critical infrastructure services that enable business operations. The engineer serves as a technical resource for network operations, security technologies, cloud connectivity, and core infrastructure platforms, helping maintain service availability, operational efficiency, and infrastructure resiliency.
This role strengthens Carenet's operational performance by proactively monitoring enterprise systems, resolving complex network and infrastructure issues, supporting technology implementations, and partnering with architecture, security, cloud, and operations teams. Through strong technical expertise, problem-solving, and operational discipline, Network & Infrastructure Engineer helps reduce operational risk, improve service reliability, and support future business growth.

1. Network Availability & Reliability
Enterprise network services consistently meet availability, performance, and connectivity objectives with minimal service disruptions.
2. Incident Resolution & Problem Management
Network and infrastructure incidents are resolved efficiently with documented root-cause analysis and preventive actions where appropriate.
3. Infrastructure Stability & Operational Excellence
Core infrastructure services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, virtualization, and hybrid connectivity remain stable, secure, and operational.
4. Security & Compliance
Network and infrastructure platforms adhere to security standards, vulnerability remediation requirements, and compliance obligations.
5. Successful Delivery of Projects & Changes
Infrastructure changes, upgrades, and deployments are completed successfully with minimal business disruption.

Sample Activities to Deliver the Goals
Network Operations & Support
- Administer and support enterprise network infrastructure including Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet platforms.
- Support routing, switching, wireless networking, VPN, firewall, and cloud-connectivity technologies.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity while proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Troubleshoot complex network, connectivity, security, and performance-related incidents.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide escalation-level support for critical network issues.
- Implement approved network changes following established change-management processes.
Hybrid Cloud & Infrastructure Services
- Support Azure networking, hybrid-cloud connectivity, VPN, and cloud-integrated infrastructure services.
- Maintain secure integration between cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments.
- Support Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware, and related infrastructure platforms.
- Assist with lifecycle management, upgrades, patching, and modernization initiatives.
Security & Compliance
11. Implement and support firewall, segmentation, VPN, and access-control standards.
- Support vulnerability remediation, security reviews, and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with security teams to investigate and resolve infrastructure and connectivity risks.
Documentation & Process
- Maintain network diagrams, inventories, SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation.
- Contribute to standardization, automation, and operational‑improvement initiatives.
- Support knowledge transfer and cross‑training efforts to improve team readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network and infrastructure environments.
- Strong experience administering enterprise networking platforms including Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet technologies, with experience supporting switching, routing, wireless networking, and firewall administration.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless networking, VPN technologies, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting hybrid‑cloud and on‑premises infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, and identity‑integrated infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex network, cloud, security, and infrastructure issues.
- Experience with network monitoring, performance management, alerting, and operational support processes.
- Strong communication, documentation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Azure networking, hybrid‑cloud connectivity, and cloud‑integrated infrastructure solutions.
- Experience supporting AWS networking or cloud‑connectivity services.
- Experience with SD‑WAN technologies.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell or Python.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and network management platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Meraki Dashboard, FortiManager, or similar tools).
- Experience supporting regulated environments and audit requirements.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and change‑management processes.
- Relevant networking, cloud, security, or IT service management certifications.
