Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a Network Engineer to bridge IT networking with live-media production in the Philippines. You will ensure 100% broadcast uptime, manage local network architecture, and troubleshoot streaming rigs and workstations on site.

The role requires hands-on experience with QoS, VLANs, Dual-WAN, and on-site support for OBS Studio and conferencing platforms. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (IT/CS/CE).
• Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, IPv4, Subnetting and OSI model knowledge.
• Hands-on L1/L2 technical support and hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Power-user experience with streaming software and video conferencing platforms.
• Able to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical staff.
• Certifications in CompTIA Network+/CCNA/ITIL are strongly preferred.
• This is an on-site role.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead enterprise network administration and Wi-Fi deployment tailored for high-density environments, ensuring seamless roaming and zero signal interference between live studios and staff areas
• Ensure streaming quality and unthrottled bandwidth by configuring QoS, traffic shaping, and VLAN segmentation on routers and switches
• Build and maintain robust failover and redundancy systems, implementing Dual-WAN load balancing, LTE/5G failovers, and redundant cabling
• Deliver on-site technical support and hardware maintenance for streaming rigs, laptops, audio mixers, and lighting control boards
• Monitor end-to-end signal integrity across streaming workstations, encoders, and capture cards from camera to web platforms
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 user support, account provisioning, and software licensing access
• Act as first responder during live incidents, executing rapid fallback/failover protocols
• Perform full lifecycle IT asset tracking and inventory audits, onboarding/offboarding setups, and spare inventory maintenance
• Provide SOP documentation and network diagrams for stream architecture and troubleshooting procedures

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The Network Engineer serves as the technical link between IT networking and live-media production. The role's purpose is to ensure 100% broadcast uptime and maintain a high-performance network across studio and office environments. You will report to the Lead of Information Technology, manage local network architecture, and provide hands-on hardware and system troubleshooting for live streams and staff operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Spearhead enterprise network administration and Wi-Fi deployment tailored for high-density environments, ensuring seamless roaming and zero signal interference between live studios and staff areas
• Ensure that streaming quality and unthrottled bandwidth are maintained by configuring advanced Quality of Service (QoS), traffic shaping, and VLAN segmentation on routers and managed switches
• Build and maintain robust failover and redundancy systems, implementing Dual-WAN load balancing, automatic LTE/5G failovers, and redundant cabling to eliminate single points of failure
• Deliver timely on-site technical support and hardware maintenance, performing setups, diagnosis, repairs, and performance tuning for PC/Mac streaming rigs, laptops, audio mixers, and lighting control boards
• Monitor and maintain end-to-end signal integrity across streaming workstations (OBS/TikTok Live Studio), video encoders, and capture cards from physical camera to web platforms
• Work closely with live production crews and office personnel to provide dedicated Tier 1 and Tier 2 user support, user account provisioning, local admin rights, and software licensing access
• Act as the primary first responder during live incidents, executing instant fallback or failover protocols during stream freezes, audio desyncs, frame drops, or platform disconnects
• Perform full-lifecycle IT asset tracking and inventory audits, logging hardware assignments, managing onboarding/offboarding computer setups, and maintaining critical spare inventory
• Provide timely SOP documentation and network diagrams, updating technical guides for stream architecture, cable routing, platform configurations, and emergency troubleshooting procedures

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Demonstrated technical aptitude in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, IPv4, Subnetting, TCP/UDP) and practical knowledge of the OSI model
• Hands-on experience with technical support (L1/L2), root cause analysis (RCA), and hardware troubleshooting (opening PCs, replacing components, performing repairs)
• Familiarity with streaming software (OBS Studio) and video conferencing platforms (Zoom/Teams/Webex) at a power-user level, alongside signal cabling awareness (HDMI vs. SDI, CAT6 vs. CAT5e)
• Logical, layer-by-layer troubleshooting mindset with strong resourcefulness and clear communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical producers or hosts
• Certifications are a plus: CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or ITIL Foundation process frameworks are highly desirable
• This is an on-site role.
