Job Overview

As a member of the Freight Forwarding team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. By transporting medicines, toys and important machine parts, you are not only delivering goods, you are making small and big moments possible for people all around the world.

Responsibilities

You will be part of our Sea Logistics team, adding your leadership expertise and skills to the delivery of Customer and Operational Excellence.

• Develop, implement and drive the local product and business development strategy for our less than full container load product (LCL).
• Work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders while focusing on key objectives.
• Drive sales and collaborate with key account managers in developing LCL opportunities, regularly joining sales calls.
• Work with the customer care and operational care teams to ensure dedicated expertise meets customer demands.
• Ensure profitability of the product by proactively following up on discrepancies.
• Upload and maintain LCL selling rates (MSR) to our designated system (KN Rates) to support the pricing department with quotations, including tailor-made selling rates for important opportunities.
• Negotiate trucking and container freight station (CFS) rates to optimise product yield, securing the best service provider according to our standards.
• Provide regular LCL product training to all colleagues engaged in activities relating to the portfolio.
• Develop tailor-made solutions for customers based on the product portfolio.
• Maintain relationships with co-loaders.
• Optimize yields by managing cargo flows via the best transportation options.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management, with strong knowledge of Less than Container Load (LCL) operations.
• Demonstrated ability to drive business development, support sales teams, and identify new LCL growth opportunities.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, rate management, profitability analysis, and vendor negotiations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across sales, operations, customer service, and external partners.
• Experience in developing customer-centric logistics solutions and managing relationships with co-loaders and service providers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimise cargo flows, transportation options, and product yields.
• Proficient in logistics systems and rate management tools, with a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and operational excellence.
