Job summary

WWF-India invites applications for the Head/Director – National Conservation Programme. Based in New Delhi, you will strategize and lead the programme, aligning raptor conservation, CCP, and state offices with WWF-India priorities.

You will guide data-driven conservation, engage government and NGOs, manage budgets, and report on technical and financial progress. Ten+ years of field conservation experience is preferred, with avian ecology knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in ornithology, ecology, wildlife, environment, or biology.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision for RCP and CCP; lead the raptor conservation team and program coordination.
• Coordinate with central and state governments to influence policies affecting vultures and other raptors.
• Oversee grant processes, budgets, and reporting; ensure timely technical and financial publications.
• Provide technical backstopping to grantees and field programmes; monitor performance indicators.
• Coordinate across WWF-India branches to align with conservation strategy and annual plans.
