Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services APAC seeks an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize large MySQL environments. The role focuses on high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning across enterprise applications.

You will configure InnoDB clusters, Group Replication, and MySQL Router; monitor health, automate tasks, and collaborate with DevOps for CI/CD changes. Strong scripting and security experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with MySQL clusters, high-availability architectures and disaster recovery.
• Strong SQL query optimization and indexing strategy experience.
• Hands-on with MySQL Router, Group Replication, and AdminAPI.
• Automation skills using Shell/Python/Bash and CI/CD integrations.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MySQL Server environments across prod, staging, and development.
• Design and manage MySQL InnoDB Cluster environments and configure replication groups.
• Monitor and troubleshoot replication lag and cluster health; perform failover drills.
• Optimize performance by analyzing slow queries, indexing, and caching; manage backups and PITR.
• Implement security controls, user management, and auditing per policy.

Job Title: MySQL Database Administrator (MySQL DBA)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and support mission-critical MySQL database environments. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in MySQL Clusters, InnoDB Cluster, MySQL Router, Group Replication, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), Performance Tuning, and Automation. The role involves ensuring database availability, reliability, scalability, and security across enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MySQL Server environments.
• Manage MySQL 5.7/8.0 databases in production, staging, and development environments.
• Perform database capacity planning and storage management.
• Implement database standards, policies, and procedures.

MySQL Cluster & High Availability

• Design, implement, and support MySQL InnoDB Cluster environments.
• Configure and manage MySQL Group Replication.
• Administer MySQL Router for application connectivity and failover.
• Configure multi-node database clusters for high availability.
• Monitor cluster health and troubleshoot replication issues.
• Perform failover testing and disaster recovery drills.

Replication Management

• Configure and maintain:

• Resolve replication lag and consistency issues.
• Monitor replica performance and synchronization.

Performance Tuning

• Analyze slow query logs and optimize SQL queries.

Automation and DevOps

• Automate routine DBA tasks using Shell/Python/Bash.
• Support CI/CD deployments involving database changes.
• Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams.
