JOB TITLE: MORTGAGE UNDERWRITER- US LOANS
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office setting with occasional opportunities for remote work.
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports to the Mortgage Underwriting Manager.
SALARY: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
PAY RANGE: Php 40,000 minimum to Php 60,000 maximum.

We are seeking a highly experienced US Mortgage Underwriter to join our dynamic underwriting team at Mega eResources Center Inc. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise to evaluate and approve mortgage applications, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies, while contributing to an efficient and customer-focused underwriting process.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze mortgage loan applications, credit reports, and financial documents to determine borrower eligibility and risk factors.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and federal regulations.
- Utilize automated underwriting systems to evaluate loan applications and make informed decisions.
- Communicate with loan officers, borrowers, and other stakeholders to gather additional information and clarify any discrepancies.
- Prepare and document underwriting findings and decisions clearly and accurately.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior underwriters, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, with a strong understanding of conventional, and NON-QM loan products.
- Familiarity with automated underwriting systems such as DU and LP
- Solid knowledge of credit analysis, debt-to-income ratios, and asset verification
Preferred
- Experience with automated underwriting systems and tools
- Certification from a recognized mortgage underwriting organization
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, including LOS (Loan Origination Systems)
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools to drive insights and efficiencies.
- Familiarity with compliance software to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
