Job summary

Riverbanks Development Corporation in Metro Manila seeks a Merchandising Officer responsible for driving sales and profitability through strategic merchandising, budget adherence, and compelling in-store presentation.

You will manage annual merchandising budgets, ensure inventory targets, coordinate with suppliers, and lead store team on product knowledge and pricing architecture to improve store performance.

Qualifications

• Three years of merchandising experience in department stores or retail, preferably in Home Furniture/ Appliances.
• Minimum two years of supervisory or officer-level experience.
• Computer literate with inventory control software and data handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit the annual merchandising budget to the Store General Manager.
• Ensure merchandising/buying stays within the approved budget.
• Select and control merchandise inventory per local market requirements.
• Support stock requirements through allocation of new items or replenishment of fast sellers.
• Establish inventory targets and maintain stock coverage.
• Address stock-related issues and coordinate corrective actions.
• Establish a clear pricing architecture for each product category.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge among store team.
• Resolve supplier issues and communicate with the Store General Manager.
• Monitor market trends to enhance product portfolio.
• Conduct regular store visits and propose improvement actions.
• Continuously improve the store's visual presentation.

The Merchandising Officer shall take accountability for driving sales and profitability of the store through strategic merchandising effort.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for the timely preparation and submission of the annual merchandising budget to the Store General Manager.
• Ensures that all merchandising/buying activities are within the approved purchase budget.
• Accountable for proper selection and control of merchandise inventory and ensures that these are in accordance to the local market requirements .
• Support stock requirements of the store through effective and efficient allocation of new items and/or replenishment of fast selling lines.
• Accountable for establishing inventory targets and analyzing/ maintaining the desired stock covered at all times.
• Respond to any stock related issues (e.g., Pricing, Quality , Availability and etc) and takes the appropriate action to rectify such issues.
• Establish a clear pricing architecture for every product category .
• Ensure that store team members maintain a thorough product knowledge at all times
• Proactively resolves any supplier related issues and communicate the same to the Store General Manager.
• Awareness of Market trends and utilize information to expand/improve product portfolio of the store.
• Conduct regular store visit independently and contribute action plans that will improve store performance.
• Consistently strive to move the visual look of the store forward.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' Degree in Business Administration major in Accounting, Economics, Finance or any other business related courses.
• At least Three (3) years of merchandising experience in a department store or any retail set up preferably in Home Furniture/ Appliances.
• Must have at least 2 years supervisory of officer level experience.
• Computer literate, familiar in database and inventory control software
• Has eyes for details and with good communication skills.
