Job summary

A leading retail company in Metro Manila is seeking a Merchandising Assistant to manage daily paperwork for the Merchandising Department. Responsibilities include updating records, consolidating inventories, encoding Purchase Orders, preparing samples for marketing, and assisting Buyers. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field, and at least 2 years of retail experience. Proficiency in MS Office is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or any related course.
  • At least 2 years relevant experience in Merchandising & Retail.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Updates canvass records immediately upon receiving notices.
  • Consolidates inventories submitted by the branches for various purposes.
  • Encodes Purchase Orders based on branch requests.
  • Prepares and compares sample items for presentation to the Committee.
  • Assists in the display of merchandise and preparation of purchase orders.

Overview

The Merchandising Assistant is responsible for the daily paperwork needed by the Merchandising Department. Prepares all the paperwork of Merchandising and updates all data into the network system. Performs fieldwork to verify items and activities of competitors in NBS branches including merchandising problems and inquiries.

Responsibilities
  • Updates accurately and immediately the canvass records upon receiving notices from the Buyers / Assistant Buyers.
  • Consolidates inventories submitted by the branch for stock monitoring, rebate and re-ordering / allocation purposes.
  • Regularly encodes Purchase Order (P.O.) based on branch requests, allocation, booking and Back-to-School volume orders.
  • Prepares sample items and compares them with similar existing items (especially price and quality) to be presented to the Committee. The Merchandiser is also responsible for returning the sample items to the vendor and informing them of the feedback and evaluation.
  • Prepares samples of Job Orders to be used in Marketing activities such as product calendar, magalogue, press release, print ads, websites, artwork, signage and other marketing collaterals.
  • Assists the Buyer in merchandise display, purchase order preparation and deliveries of soon-to-open stores.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or any related course.
  • Preferably with at least 2 years relevant experience in Merchandising & Retail.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
  • Must be a Team Player with Good Negotiation, Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
