Job summary

Kavi Philippines is seeking a Medical Coder (CPC/COC) and Denials Auditor to review inpatient, outpatient, and professional claims, ensure accurate coding, and maximize compliant reimbursement.

You will collaborate with revenue cycle teams, serve as a coding subject matter expert on denials and appeals, and stay current with CMS, NCCI, LCDs, payer policies, and evolving coding guidelines.

Qualifications

• Certified coder with CPC or COC and CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS knowledge.
• Experience in medical billing, denial management, and revenue cycle processes.
• Ability to interpret physician documentation and clinical terminology.

Role Description

The Medical Coder (CPC/COC)/Coding Denials Auditor is responsible for reviewing, auditing, and accurately coding inpatient, outpatient, and professional claims to ensure proper reimbursement, compliance with billing regulations, and adherence to coding standards. This role collaborates with revenue cycle teams and serves as a subject matter expert on coding practices, with a special focus on claim denials and appeals.

Qualifications

• Professional coding certification such as CPC or COC, with strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding systems.


• Experience in medical billing and revenue cycle processes, including charge capture, claim submission, and denial management.


• Proficiency in interpreting physician documentation, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and clinical workflows.


• Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements, payer policies, and coding guidelines (e.g., CMS, NCCI, LCDs).


• Comfort using electronic health record (EHR) systems, coding software, and basic data or reporting tools.


• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to maintain high coding accuracy in a fast-paced environment.


• Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with clinical and non-clinical teams.


• Relevant work experience in outpatient or hospital-based coding; a degree in a health-related field is an advantage.


• Willingness to work on-site in Iloilo and to participate in ongoing training to keep skills current with coding and RCM changes.
