Job summary

ISTA Solutions is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join a growing team in Makati or Mandaluyong. The role focuses on eligibility verification, accuracy of patient bills, and follow-up on unpaid claims with US payers.

You will collaborate across departments to resolve complex inquiries and maintain detailed records of customer interactions. Candidates should have 6 months–1 year of BPO experience in a US healthcare account, with strong English communication and empathy.

Qualifications

• Six months to 1 year of BPO experience in a US healthcare account.
• Good working knowledge of medical claims, benefits, eligibilities, and appeals.
• Familiarity with US healthcare insurance (Medicare, Medicaid).
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.
• Ability to display empathy and patience addressing customer concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer support via phone, email, and chat.
• Verify eligibility and benefits for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures.
• Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness; obtain missing information.
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle.
• Contact insurance companies for discrepancies in payments as needed.
• Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.

Account specific roles & responsibilities:

• Perform eligibility and benefits verification for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures.
• Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtaining any missing information.
• Following up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe.
• Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary
• Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
