Subic Bay International Terminal Corporation (SBITC) is seeking a Mechanical Technician for the Crane Maintenance Section. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of quay cranes and RTG cranes to ensure operational reliability and safety.
You will work with diagnostic tools, read manuals, and coordinate with electrical teams to minimize downtime, with shift work including weekends and holidays as required.
The Mechanical Technician for Crane Maintenance Section (CMS) will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of quay cranes and RTG cranes at Subic Bay International Terminal Corporation (SBITC). The technician will ensure operational reliability, compliance with safety standards, and timely restoration of equipment to minimize downtime.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Quay Cranes and RTG cranes to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including engines, gearboxes, brakes, wire ropes, pumps, and valves.
Conduct routine inspections and identify faults or abnormal conditions.
Use diagnostic tools such as vibration testers, thermal scanners, and multimeters to support troubleshooting.
Read and follow technical manuals, drawings, and manufacturer guidelines during maintenance and repair work.
Coordinate with electrical technicians and operations teams to minimize equipment downtime.
Ensure all work complies with safety rules and company procedures.
Perform testing and functional checks after repairs before returning equipment to service.
Complete maintenance reports and job documentation accurately and on time.
Respond to equipment breakdowns and support operational requirements.
Maintain proper housekeeping and safe work practices at all times.
Willing to work shift schedules, weekends, and holidays as required by operations.
Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
Additional certifications in hydraulic systems or crane maintenance are desirable.
Certification in hydraulic systems or diesel engine maintenance.
Familiarity with international standards such as ISO for crane and port equipment maintenance.
Can perform fieldwork, including climbing and heavy lifting.
Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as per operational requirements.
Proficiency in mechanical systems such as bearings, gears, chains, and wire ropes.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on quay cranes and RTGs, including engine systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems for interfacing with mechanical repairs.
Experience in using diagnostic tools and precision instruments such as vibration tester, thermal scanner and multimeter.
