Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supervising and monitoring mechanical works and installations to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules. The position coordinates with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and other project disciplines to ensure proper execution and timely completion of mechanical works.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Construction Phase:
- Supervise and monitor daily mechanical construction and installation activities.
- Ensure mechanical works are implemented according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Monitor manpower, materials, tools, and equipment required for assigned mechanical works.
- Identify site issues and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
2. Quality and Technical Compliance:
- Inspect mechanical installations and equipment to ensure proper workmanship and compliance with specifications.
- Review mechanical drawings, shop drawings, technical specifications, and installation plans.
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel regarding inspections, testing, and quality concerns.
- Monitor and resolve defective, incomplete, or non-conforming mechanical works.
3. Project Coordination and Progress Monitoring:
- Coordinate with mechanical contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project disciplines.
- Monitor mechanical works against approved schedules and project milestones.
- Participate in coordination meetings and provide updates on mechanical construction activities.
- Report delays, technical concerns, material issues, and other project risks to the Project Manager/Project Lead.
4. Documentation, Safety, and Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain daily site reports, inspection records, accomplishment reports, and other required mechanical documentation.
- Coordinate with the Safety team to ensure safe execution of mechanical works.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, project procedures, applicable engineering standards, and safety requirements.
- Support testing, commissioning, punch listing, rectification, and turnover activities.
