Job summary

Knowles in the Philippines is seeking a Quality Engineer – Material Compliance to ensure adherence to RoHS, REACH, and other environmental regulations, and to maintain and improve material compliance processes.

The role collaborates with internal teams, suppliers, customers and laboratories, supports audits, trains staff, and drives continuous improvement across ISO 9001/ISO 14001/ISO 45001 and HSPM programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science.
Chemical Engineering background preferred.
Experience in product material compliance, regulatory compliance, or quality systems is preferred.
Hands-on experience in process improvement and manufacturing systems enhancement.
Experience supporting audits, compliance activities, or environmental regulatory requirements within a manufacturing environment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Review products and evaluate compliance with applicable material regulations and customer-specific requirements.
Respond to customer inquiries related to material compliance and hazardous substance management.
Manage and support activities related to RoHS, REACH, Halogen-Free (HF) and other applicable environmental requirements.
Prepare and provide customer documentation such as Full Material Disclosure (FMD), CMRT, customer-required compliance reports and declarations, and laboratory test reports.
Upload and maintain compliance information within environmental compliance databases and resolve related technical issues.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather and validate material compliance information and product data.
Arrange and manage third-party laboratory testing to ensure valid and current compliance reports.
Perform XRF testing when required to support material verification and customer requests.
Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IECQ QC 080000 HSPM.
Review procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and management system requirements.
Participate in internal audits, process audits, customer audits, and supplier assessments.
Support process improvement initiatives that enhance compliance, product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Conduct training and awareness programs related to material compliance and hazardous substance management requirements.
Work with manufacturing, quality, engineering, purchasing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure effective compliance implementation.
