Varex Imaging is seeking two Manufacturing Engineers to support heat exchanger manufacturing in the Philippines. You will drive cost-down initiatives, reduce leaks, and improve yield while collaborating with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, suppliers, and U.S.-based engineering teams.

Responsibilities include root-cause analysis, process improvements, and validations for heat exchanger products, with emphasis on preventing recurring defects and ensuring compliance with Varex requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Support cost-down projects for heat exchanger products, including material usage reduction, labor-efficiency improvement, scrap reduction, rework reduction, yield improvement, and process simplification.
• Investigate and resolve heat exchanger manufacturing issues including leaks, pressure-test failures, brazing/weld defects, and dimensional concerns.
• Perform root cause analysis using 5 Whys, fishbone, fault-tree, and process mapping; implement containment and corrective actions.
• Analyze scrap, rework, warranty, test-failure, inspection, and production data to identify high-impact opportunities.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, leak-test methods, inspection standards, and production documentation.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Suppliers, and US engineering teams to implement fixes and verify effectiveness.
• Support engineering changes, first article inspection, and validation planning for heat exchanger products.
• Document savings, decisions, risk assessments, ECO support, and customer/internal investigations.
• Provide status updates and action-item follow-ups to local and cross-site stakeholders.

Summary: Varex is seeking two Manufacturing Engineers to support heat exchanger manufacturing operations in the Philippines. These positions will focus on measurable cost-down initiatives, leak reduction, repeat-defect elimination, yield improvement, and sustainable corrective actions for heat exchanger products. The Manufacturing Engineer will work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, suppliers, and U.S.-based engineering teams to identify cost and quality drivers, implement practical manufacturing fixes, and ensure products are built consistently, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable Varex requirements.

Job Description

• Support cost-down projects for heat exchanger products, including material usage reduction, labor-efficiency improvement, scrap reduction, rework reduction, yield improvement, and process simplification.
• Investigate and resolve heat exchanger manufacturing and performance issues, including leaks, pressure-test failures, brazing or weld defects, dimensional concerns, contamination, handling damage, blocked passages, and repeat nonconformances.
• Perform structured root cause and corrective action activities using tools such as 5 Why, fishbone diagrams, fault-tree analysis, process mapping, containment planning, corrective action implementation, and effectiveness verification.
• Analyze scrap, rework, warranty, test-failure, inspection, and production data to identify highest-impact cost, quality, and manufacturability opportunities.
• Develop, review, and improve manufacturing processes, leak-test methods, pressure-test requirements, inspection standards, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and production documentation.
• Partner with Production and Quality teams to implement practical manufacturing fixes through Kaizen and verify that corrective actions reduce recurring defects and improve process stability.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Purchasing, suppliers, and U.S.-based engineering teams to evaluate design, supplier quality, process variation, sourcing opportunities, and total product cost.
• Support engineering change implementation, first article inspection, validation planning, process verification, drawing and specification updates, and acceptance criteria development for heat exchanger products.
• Support supplier and part-related investigations, including disposition recommendations, rework planning, return-to-vendor decisions, cost-impact analysis, and manufacturability feedback.
• Document project savings, quality improvement results, technical decisions, risk assessments, ECO support, PV&V activity, FAIT support, and customer or internal complaint investigations.
• Provide timely status updates, action-item follow-up, project tracking, and technical recommendations to local and cross-site stakeholders.
• Perform inspection / investigation on returned customer complaint units to identify root cause of the failure mode.
• Reviews / Initiate BOM and Routing Changes for any discrepancies within the production line.
• Review Process Failure Mode Effect and Analysis (PFMEA) and Process Control Plan (PCP) to help reduce Customer Defect Parts Per Million (DPPM).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience in manufacturing, quality, process engineering, production support, supplier quality, or a related technical operations role.
