Job summary

CrowdGen invites you to join Project Lupin as an Independent Contractor. You will listen to real audio recordings and produce verbatim transcripts with precise timestamps and speaker labels across conversations with 2–8 participants.

The role requires Mandarin Chinese (Simplified) fluency, strong listening skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Training will be provided for browser-based tools, with flexible, remote hours and earnings based on audio hours.

Qualifications

• Native-level fluency in Mandarin Chinese (Simplified) required.
• Strong listening comprehension and attention to detail.
• Able to produce verbatim transcriptions including stutters, repetitions and filler words.
• Experience in transcription, annotation, or linguistics is a plus.
• Comfortable using browser-based tools; training provided.

Project Lupin aims to help improve AI-powered speech recognition models

In this project, participants contribute by checking and modifying the audio segmentation and transcription. The transcriptions generated will contribute to the development of improved AI-powered speech recognition models.

Task Summary

You will listen to real audio recordings and produce precise, verbatim transcripts — capturing not just what was said, but how it was said. That means every “uh,” every repeated word, and every trailing sentence matters. Your work will include:

• Verbatim transcription with a target of 98%+ accuracy
• Timestamping segments with less than 500ms deviation
• Speaker labeling for conversations with 2 to 8 participants
• Event annotation for non-speech elements (e.g., laughter, background noise, unintelligible audio)

Requirements

• Native-level fluency in Mandarin Chinese (Simplified), including familiarity with regional accents and informal speech
• Strong listening comprehension and attention to detail.
• Ability to produce verbatim transcriptions, including stutters, repetitions, and filler words.
• Experience in transcription, annotation, or linguistics is an advantage.
• Comfortable using browser-based tools (training will be provided).
• Reliable internet connection.
• Access to a laptop or desktop computer (mobile devices are not supported).
• Reliable availability for minimum 10+ hours per week.

This role is a project‑based opportunity with CrowdGen, where you will join the CrowdGen Community as an Independent Contractor. If selected, you will receive an email from CrowdGen regarding the creation of an account using your application email address. You will need to log in to this account and reset the password, complete the setup requirements, and proceed with your application for this project‑based role.

$35 - $35 an hour

Payments for the project will be made based on the number of audio hours that you transcribe.

Earn $35.00 per audio hour – the more you work, the more you make!

Complete 1 audio hour of transcription for every 5 hours you work – making the most of your time.

Work a minimum 10 hours a week – perfect for a flexible earning option

Potential Weekly Earnings Breakdown:

$35.00 per audio hour

0.2 audio hours/hour × 10 hours/week = 2.0 audio hours/week

2.0 audio hours × $35.00 = $70.00/week

Earn $70. weekly with minimum 10 hours of work. More hours = higher earnings.
