  • Experience in leading expert consensus panels and managing structured scientific consensus initiatives.
  • Knowledge of real-world evidence generation, with hands-on experience conducting real-world studies end to end.

About the Role

The Manager - Scientific Services - will lead the development and delivery of high-quality scientific communications and Medical Affairs initiatives for pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. The role requires a blend of scientific expertise, project leadership, stakeholder engagement, and commercial acumen to deliver impactful solutions and support the growth of Springer Health+'s Scientific Services business in India.

Key Responsibilities
Scientific Content & Medical Communications
  • Develop evidence-based scientific content by leveraging strong Pharmaceutical Industry Knowledge and Product and Service Knowledge to ensure relevance, accuracy, and scientific rigor.
  • Review evidence-based scientific content, ensuring scientific accuracy, quality, compliance, and alignment with client and stakeholder expectations through a Customer‑Focused and Action‑Oriented approach.
  • Develop scientific platforms, advisory board materials, slide decks, publications, manuscripts, literature reviews, and medical education assets that effectively support client objectives and therapeutic communication needs.
  • Conduct literature searches, evidence assessments, and scientific analyses utilizing deep Pharmaceutical Industry Knowledge and critical evaluation skills.
  • Ensure scientific accuracy, quality, and compliance across deliverables while balancing regulatory requirements, business goals, and stakeholder expectations through effective Stakeholder Management.
  • Stay abreast of therapeutic advances, emerging evidence, and industry trends to maintain robust scientific expertise and Product and Service Knowledge.
Medical Affairs & Client Engagement
  • Partner with Medical Affairs teams to support strategic scientific objectives while effectively balancing stakeholders and fostering cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Participate in client meetings, advisory boards, and scientific discussions by applying Consultative Selling techniques and demonstrating strong scientific expertise.
  • Provide scientific insights and recommendations that address client needs and support informed decision‑making through a Customer‑Focused and consultative approach.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, KOLs, and healthcare professionals, ensuring long‑term engagement, trust, and customer satisfaction.
KOL Engagement
  • Support identification and engagement of KOLs and external experts by utilizing strong industry networks and Pharmaceutical Industry Knowledge.
  • Coordinate scientific reviews and expert inputs while effectively balancing diverse stakeholder perspectives and objectives.
  • Develop meeting summaries, insight reports, and recommendations that translate expert feedback into actionable scientific and business outcomes.
  • Develop national and international medical society and university tie‑ups to strengthen scientific collaborations and create opportunities for strategic partnerships and Business Development.
Project Leadership
  • Manage multiple projects while ensuring quality, timelines, client satisfaction, and efficient resource utilization, supported by sound Financial Acumen and an Action‑Oriented mindset.
  • Collaborate with medical writers, editors, designers, and project teams to deliver high‑quality scientific solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans proactively to ensure successful project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
Business Growth
  • Support proposals, capability presentations, and client pitches by combining scientific expertise with Consultative Selling, Business Development, and Product and Service Knowledge.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing and new accounts through a strong understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and business objectives.
  • Provide scientific input during project scoping and planning, incorporating Financial Acumen and strategic business considerations to support successful project outcomes.
  • Contribute to business expansion efforts by maintaining a customer‑centric approach and identifying opportunities to enhance service offerings and client value.
Compliance & Quality
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, ethical standards, and company processes by applying comprehensive Pharmaceutical Industry Knowledge and quality‑focused practices.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational excellence, client satisfaction, and service quality.
Team Development
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to scientific training programs by sharing expertise in scientific communications, therapeutic areas, and industry best practices.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and scientific excellence while fostering a Customer‑Focused, Action‑Oriented, and high‑performance team culture.
  • Support the development of team capabilities related to Pharmaceutical Industry Knowledge, Product and Service Knowledge, stakeholder management, and business acumen.
Experience & Qualifications
Education
  • MBBS, MD, PharmD, M.Pharm, PhD, Life Sciences, or related healthcare qualification.
  • Additional qualifications in Medical Affairs, Medical Writing, Publications, or Management are advantageous.
Experience
  • 8–10 years' experience in Medical Communications, Medical Affairs, Scientific Services, or Healthcare Communications.
  • Proven expertise in scientific content development and client engagement.
  • Strong understanding of clinical research, evidence evaluation, and publication practices.
  • Familiarity with GPP2022, ICMJE, AMA style, and pharmaceutical compliance requirements.
