Job summary

Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Manager to design and execute sourcing strategies for indirect spends across APAC sites.

You will oversee supplier quality, delivery, and cost performance, ensuring continuity of supply while supporting cost objectives. The role reports to the Director of Purchasing and requires a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years in supply chain or purchasing, with hands-on contract management and supplier relationship experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or related field.
• 10+ years in supply chain or purchasing in electronics/high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience in spend analysis and supplier contract management.
• Proven supplier relationship and performance oversight.
• People management experience leading buyers teams.
• SAP and/or Ariba proficiency; strong MS Office skills.
• Willing to be onsite in Rosario, Cavite.

Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager leads the design and execution of sourcing strategies to ensure reliable continuity of indirect spend supplies across other locations enabling Advanced Energy’s business groups to operate efficiently while supporting internal needs and corporate cost objectives. The role oversees supplier quality, delivery, and cost performance, and is accountable for supplier selection, performance management, and issue or crisis resolution. This position reports to the Director, Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

• Establishes procurement division with Asia Pacific multiple sites for indirect spends covering a wide range of categories (equipment, facility, IT, MRO, professional services and Capex items)
• Proactively manage projects and perform purchasing tenders and supplier selection.
• Responsible for cost reduction and supplier performance
• Provides management support for business and strategic procurement activities.
• Develops cost effective sources of supply that support AE’s growth strategies.
• Evaluates price trends, new products, and manufacturing processes that improve overall commodity team performance. Overall responsibilities for Price negotiations and all pricing decisions
• Develops and administers supplier contracts for managing costs, schedules, performance factors, service levels, supplier liability limits, and continuity of supply.
• Provides coaching, mentoring, employee development and team building.
• Take action to ensure continuous improvement of the Purchasing team’s productivity and effectiveness through adequate training of personnel.
• Develop policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
• With 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain or purchasing, preferably within an electronic or high‑tech manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in developing and executing categories and commodity strategies, including spend analysis and supplier contract management.
• Strong track record in strategic supplier relationship management, performance oversight (quality, delivery, cost), and issue or crisis resolution.
• Demonstrated people management capability, with experience mentoring, developing, and leading teams of buyers while managing multiple initiatives.
• Proficient in SAP and/or Ariba, with solid MS Office skills and the ability to respond decisively to dynamic business requirements.
• Willing to be assigned to a full-time, onsite position at Rosario, Cavite site.
