Job description

We are the platform turning browsing into shopping. We connect 200 million shoppers with deals they love while boosting local sales for hundreds of top retailers and brands.

We help consumers save time and money while making smart shopping decisions, and we support retailers and brands in engaging customers from online research to in-store purchases.

In 2024, Shopfully joined forces with the North American company Flipp, creating a global leader in the sector. Together, we reach 400 million households and serve over 1,000 top retailers and brands across 27 markets, including Europe, Canada, the USA, Latin America, and Australia.

Ready to spark your growth with us?

WHO WE LOOK FOR

We are seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Manager, Global Accounting to lead key accounting operations and help ensure the integrity of financial reporting across our global organization. This role is responsible for overseeing month-end close activities, reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting audit and compliance activities.

As a key member of the Global Accounting team, you will play an important role in strengthening accounting processes, developing a high-performing team, and partnering across functions to support our continued growth. You will also contribute to our ongoing post-merger integration efforts by supporting the onboarding of newly acquired entities, harmonizing accounting processes, and helping build scalable ways of working across a diverse, multinational organization.

Success in this role requires strong technical accounting expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to bring structure to evolving processes. You’ll thrive if you enjoy collaborating across time zones, navigating ambiguity, and driving continuous improvement in a remote-first, fast-paced environment.

As part of our global hiring process, we kindly ask that resumes/CVs be submitted in English, as it’s our primary business language across teams and regions.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
  • Lead and coordinate the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting;
  • Coordinate and supervise the Accounting team, overseeing the regular accounting activities across the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with group accounting policies;
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation;
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
  • Support preparation and review of consolidated financial reporting packages across multiple entities and jurisdictions;
  • Oversee statutory and local GAAP reporting requirements across jurisdictions, ensuring timely preparation of local financial statements and compliance with local regulatory obligations.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Accounting Operations
  • Oversee the maintenance and integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts;
  • Set up and maintain new accounts, cost centers, and accounting structures within the ERP system;
  • Ensure accurate accounting of financial transactions related to internal and external financing, including loans, credit facilities, and related interest accruals;
  • Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and consistently across entities and departments;
  • Coordinate fixed assets accounting, including the maintenance of the asset register, depreciation runs, capitalizations, and disposals across entities;
  • Oversee intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliation of intercompany balances, resolution of discrepancies between entities, and timely preparation of intercompany schedules in support of group consolidation;
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and controls.
Team Leadership & Support
  • Supervise, mentor, and support members of the accounting team.
  • Review work completed by team members and provide coaching and guidance to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Help build a collaborative, high-performing accounting function focused on continuous improvement.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful team environment that values diverse perspectives and experiences.
  • Support workload planning and coordination across the team during close cycles and audits.
Audit & Compliance
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit activities.
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
  • Assist with implementation and monitoring of internal controls and compliance requirements.
  • Support regulatory, tax, and statutory reporting requirements as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Global Finance Operations, Consolidation, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and operations teams to support accurate reporting and business initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a culturally diverse and multinational business environment.
  • Support communication and coordination across teams operating in different regions and time zones.
  • Collaborate with system administrators and process owners on ERP enhancements and process improvements.
  • Support special projects, system implementations, and process optimization initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 1–2+ years of people leadership experience, including supervising, coaching, and developing accounting team members.
  • CPA (or equivalent international accounting designation) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and experience applying accounting guidance in a complex, multi-entity environment.
  • Experience leading month-end close, financial reporting, and consolidation processes across multiple legal entities.
  • Experience supporting a global organization, including collaborating across regions, cultures, and time zones in a remote or distributed environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment when navigating ambiguity or unfamiliar accounting matters.
  • Experience improving accounting processes, strengthening controls, and implementing scalable solutions.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools; experience supporting ERP implementations or system enhancements is an asset

At our company, we value diversity and actively encourage it — we believe a variety of perspectives and backgrounds makes us stronger. We focus on potential rather than on having a “perfect” CV. If this role excites you and you believe you could grow into it — even if you don’t tick every single box in the requirements — we’d love to hear from you!

WHO WE ARE

We’re a team of 450 people (and counting!), from 30 different nationalities. We’re on a mission to innovate, and we believe the key to that is seeing the world through a variety of perspectives. That’s why building a more diverse team, as well as bringing in even more talent, is so important for us.

TO FEEL AT HOME IN SHOPFULLY YOU NEED
  • Progress Over Perfection: We move forward. Always. In a fast-moving world, speed with purpose beats certainty without action. Momentum matters—not for its own sense, but because it drives results.
  • Clarity Through Transparency: We bring each other along. We work in teams, not silos. Transparency gives context, and context enables action. That means we share decisions early, publish work in progress, and document outcomes so others can learn, move faster, and build better.
  • Learn Loudly: We grow by doing and by daring. Big bets unlock big breakthroughs. But real innovation demands risk, and risk always carries the possibility of failure. That’s not a flaw. It’s the price of ambition.
  • Challenge with Empathy: We speak up, even when it’s hard—because candor shows care, and leads to better outcomes. Listening deeply is how we grow. Disagreeing openly is how we build trust.

Always Build Better: We are builders—of products, systems, and ideas. But more than that, we are builders of better. Better has no finish line. It’s a mindset.
