Mastercard Philippines is seeking a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (Statutory and Regulatory Reporting) to join the MTS Accounting Team. You will oversee statutory reporting and audits for the Americas, while partnering with global stakeholders to drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls in a complex remittance environment.

You will develop processes for currency settlement, reconcile TFC with Oracle, and lead data extracts for accounting and regulatory reporting,

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance with CPA/CA designation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of internal control concepts and compliance.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Hyperion and Oracle.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing statutory financials and audits for Americas entities (US, Canada, Mexico).
  • Review adjustments to ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
  • Developing processes to control currency changes for Originating and Receiving Institutions.
  • Documenting accounting for customers acting as OIs and RIs.
  • Creating templates for reconciling TFC to Oracle for AR and RI payables with roll-forward controls.
  • Reviewing revenue entries from TFC and validating currencies and legal entities.

Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (Statutory and Regulatory Reporting)Overview:

The MTS Philippines Accounting Team is a key part of the MTS Controllership organization, responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting and accounting operations for the Philippines entity, including core functions such as accounts payable, reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and period-end close, while supporting statutory audits, tax and regulatory compliance, and management reporting, and partnering closely with global and cross-functional stakeholders to drive process improvements, maintain strong internal controls, and uphold financial integrity in a complex and highly regulated remittance environment.

We are looking for a person to:

  • Help oversee the delivery of statuary reports to various regulators within the Americas
  • Support the development of processes and controls around the financial activities of the company.
  • Ensure oversight of the data extracts use for accounting and supplemental reporting.

This role requires a highly motivated team-player who works collaboratively across finance and Operations and Technology teams to accelerate the implementation of the abovementioned processes and controls.

The Role
  • Statutory Financials
    • Overseeing the financial statement preparation and audits of various entities in the Americas, including US, Canada, Mexico
    • Reviewing any necessary adjustments to comply with statutory reporting requirements for the jurisdictions in which we’re licensed.
  • Financial controls
    • Developing and documenting processes to control and manage settlement currency changes for Originating Institutions (“OIs”) as well as the currencies that we settle Receiving Institutions (“RIs”).
    • Developing and documenting the accounting for customers that interchangeably act as OIs and RIs.
    • Development of a template and process for the reconciliation of TFC to Oracle for accounts receivable and RI payable accounts in entered currencies and in the correct legal entities. This should include the process required to ensure that roll forward controls are performed to validate that TFC balances are accurate.
  • Data extracts for accounting
    • Review of the current Revenue generating entry from TFC – perform validation work to ensure that the currencies and legal entities that these are being booked to are accurate.
    • Review of the TFC originated entries that are required to be posted in Oracle for the conversion of hard currencies received or paid out into contractually agreed currencies. Define and document this process.
    • Development of the requirements and specifications required for the automation and interface between TFC and Oracle for:
      • Revenue entries, which include entries to Accounts Receivable and RI payables
      • Non-cash adjusting entries
      • Cash entries from TFC
      • FX conversion entries related to cash received and paid to OIs and RIs
All about You
  • BS or BA in Business Administration/ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related disciplines with a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant designation or equivalent local designation.
  • Proficiency with accounting and finance systems/software applications e.g. Excel, Hyperion, and Oracle.
  • Strong knowledge of Internal Control concepts. Experience in Internal audit is a plus.
  • Driven by a continual process improvement agenda, demonstrated through challenging and improving processes.
  • Detailed orientated with strong analytical and financial skills supported by excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience operating in a diverse, multi-functional finance group across time zones is a plus.
  • Must be able to integrate knowledge across various disciplines and work across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Independent worker and thinker with the ability to follow up on time sensitive issues, with the ability to drive others.
  • A team player with the ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships across multiple levels and organizational boundaries.
