About The Role
The Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in strengthening the technical depth, operational efficiency, and leadership capacity across PDAX's Finance division. Designed for an agile and technically grounded finance leader, this position takes ownership of core accounting operations, financial close integrity, and internal controls, while stepping up to lead cross‑functional finance projects where business demands are highest. This role serves as a key operational anchor—managing daily finance workflows, developing junior talent, and providing immediate middle‑management depth to ensure continuous audit‑readiness and scalable growth.
General Responsibilities
- Financial Operations & Close Ownership
- Manage end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring strict compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS/IFRS) and local tax guidelines.
- Review and approve general ledger operations, complex journal entries, multi-currency reconciliations, and intercompany accounts across legal entities.
- Apply technical accounting treatments for digital asset transactions, revenue recognition, fair value accounting, and inventory valuation based on established standards.
- Middle-Management Leadership & People Development
- Directly supervise, mentor, and coach a team of accountants and finance specialists, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Balance workload distribution across the team to alleviate operational bottlenecks and build succession depth within the department.
- Establish clear operational KPIs, review deliverables, and drive performance management across routine and non-routine finance tasks.
- Governance, Risk, & Internal Controls
- Enforce and regularly refine internal financial control workflows to protect company assets, prevent operational leakage, and eliminate accounting errors.
- Partner with Treasury, TechOps, and Product teams to validate reconciliation models between platform trading ledgers, bank clearing accounts, and on-chain wallets.
- Support the evaluation of financial risks and control requirements for new fintech product offerings or feature rollouts.
- Audit, Tax, & Regulatory Execution
- Act as a senior point of contact during internal and external (Big 4) financial audits, driving working paper preparation and timely resolution of audit queries.
- Oversee statutory tax compliance and review working papers for routine BIR filings and local tax requirements.
- Assist in preparing regulatory financial submissions required by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and SEC.
- Process Optimization & Special Projects
- Identify opportunities to automate manual accounting tasks, working with IT and Engineering to optimize enterprise ERP workflows (NetSuite) and financial reporting tools.
- Lead ad-hoc finance initiatives, integration projects, or operational deep-dives to support executive decision-making as business priorities evolve.
Qualifications
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential is required.
- Experience: 5–9+ years of progressive accounting, audit, and financial operations experience.
- Assistant Manager: 5–6 years experience with 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Manager / Senior Manager: 7–9+ years experience with 3+ years managing teams.
- Background: High-transaction-volume environment experience is strongly preferred (FinTech, banking, payments, e‑commerce, brokerage, or fast‑scaling tech). 2+ years of Big 4 audit experience combined with corporate finance experience is a significant advantage.
- Technical Mastery:
- Solid working knowledge of PFRS/IFRS, BIR tax rules, and routine financial reporting mechanics.
- Hands‑on proficiency with NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or comparable enterprise ERP platforms.
- Familiarity with high‑volume transaction reconciliations; exposure to digital assets, blockchain ledger data, or multi‑currency operations is a strong plus.
