Job summary

Greenko Energy Holdings is seeking a senior hydrologist/hydraulic engineer with 5+ years of field experience in hydroelectric power or water resources projects. You will work on design flood estimation, water availability studies, and power potential analyses for run‑of‑river and pumped storage schemes.

The role requires strong skills in hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, ArcGIS) and experience with civil engineering design, dam/flow structures, and BIM tools. Frequent site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Hydrology & Hydraulics for hydroelectric or water resources projects.
• Knowledge of design flood estimation and water availability studies.
• Familiarity with hydraulic design of diversion structures, spillways, and energy dissipation.

Responsibilities

• Develop DPR-level designs and drawings for hydroelectric projects.
• Review and optimize consultant designs and drawings for construction phases.
• Travel to sites for surveys and project verification.

Job Description

• Should have experience at least 5 years in the field of Hydrology & Hydraulics in Hydro Electric power/water resources projects with Civil Engineering Background with the following technical requirements:
• Estimation of Design flood & water Availability studies with respect to the approval agencies of CWC and State Energy Directorates.
• Power Potential Studies for the run-of-river schemes, storage/Peak power Hydro Electric Projects.
• Fixing the General Layout Plan of the Hydroelectric project based on the respective hydraulic calculations & other Hydrology/hydraulic parameters.
• Should Have good hand on the hydraulics/water related Soft wares such as Hec-RAS, Water Hammer, Arc-GIS, Auto-CAD, Dam Break Analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEM) etc.
• Experience on Design of Hydraulics/Diversion Structures (Barrage, Dam (earthen/gravity), weirs, coffer dam etc.), Spillway Capacity & knowledge on provision of emergency evacuation arrangements through dams, Energy Dissipation Arrangements, cross drainage structures etc.
• Experience on the Regression Analysis to carryout the hydrological Studies.
• Should have knowledge on Flood routing (Channel Routing, reservoir routing etc.)
• Thorough knowledge on Application IS codes, American & European Standards related to the Hydraulics, Hydrological studies & Dam for Hydroelectric projects.
• Preparation of DPR level Design, Documents, & Drawings for getting approval from the State & Central Govt. agencies.
• Should have experience for preparation of Technical Specification & drawings for Tender Documents.
• Review, Optimization & value addition of Consultants Design & Drawings for construction stage of Hydroelectric projects.
• Experience on preparation of Details designs & drawings for the construction project and able to travel frequently for site visits as required.
• Should have experience in application of different type of turbines, pumps & valve specially in Hydroelectric projects.
• Should have experience for development of BoQ & Cost Estimates for the hydroelectric projects.
• Having Experience in Pumped Storage Project is an additional advantage.
• Having Knowledge on application of BIM Software is an additional advantage.
