You will work with senior leadership, gain field exposure, and progressively take on sales planning, team supervision, and performance management responsibilities to drive business results. The Sales Management Trainee is a developmental leadership position designed to prepare a high-potential sales professional for future appointment as a Sales Manager. The trainee will undergo structured training, coaching, field exposure, and hands-on sales management responsibilities to develop the knowledge, skills, and leadership capabilities required to manage a sales team and deliver business results.
The position will work closely with the Sales Manager and senior leadership, progressively assuming greater responsibility for sales planning, team supervision, customer development, performance management, and business execution.
Learn and execute the company’s sales strategies, targets, policies, and procedures.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and business partners.
Participate in customer calls, sales presentations, negotiations, and business reviews.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
Identify and develop new business opportunities to support revenue growth.
Analyze sales performance and recommend actions to improve results.
Assist in coaching, mentoring, and developing sales representatives.
Accompany sales personnel on field calls and provide constructive feedback.
Learn effective methods of setting sales targets, monitoring productivity, and managing performance.
Support team meetings, sales huddles, training sessions, and performance reviews.
Develop the ability to motivate and lead a team toward achieving sales objectives.
Assist in preparing sales forecasts, budgets, territory plans, and action plans.
Monitor sales activities, customer coverage, pipeline development, and achievement of targets.
Review sales reports and translate data into actionable business recommendations.
Learn inventory, pricing, collections, account management, and other commercial processes relevant to the business.
Ensure compliance with company policies, sales procedures, and reporting requirements.
Complete assigned management and leadership training programs.
Take ownership of special projects and initiatives assigned by management.
Gradually assume selected responsibilities of the Sales Manager during the training period.
Demonstrate sound judgment, accountability, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills.
Serve as a role model in professionalism, customer service, work ethic, and company values.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field preferred.
Relevant sales experience, preferably with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to influence others.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Results-oriented, proactive, and highly accountable.
Willingness to conduct fieldwork and travel as required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or relevant sales reporting tools.
