POSITION TITLE: Senior to Lead - Mainframe Developer.
WORK LOCATION: ORTIGAS, PASIG CITY.
SHIFT SCHEDULE: MORNING SHIFT.
WORK SETUP: RTO IN ORTIGAS, PASIG CITY.

Senior to Lead - Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, and VSAM to join our Payment Systems team. The role focuses on both application development and Level 3 (L3) production support, ensuring high availability, stability, and performance of mission-critical payment applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, coding, testing, and troubleshooting mainframe applications, with a deep understanding of payment processing workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application Development:
    • Design, code, test, and implement new features and enhancements for payment systems.
    • Develop and maintain COBOL programs, CICS transactions, JCL scripts, DB2 queries, and VSAM datasets.
    • Participate in system design sessions, technical reviews, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
    • Ensure compliance with coding standards, documentation, and security best practices.
  • L3 Production Support:
    • Provide Level 3 support for critical payment applications, resolving complex production incidents and defects.
    • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes to ensure system stability.
    • Support system performance tuning, optimization, and monitoring activities.
    • Collaborate with infrastructure, middleware, and database teams to address cross-functional issues.
    • Create and maintain knowledge base articles for recurring issues and solutions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
    • Support release management, deployment, and change control processes.
    • Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation for production issues (as required).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in:
    • COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM
    • Mainframe debugging and performance tuning tools.
  • Solid understanding of payment processing systems is preferred.
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, and root cause analysis within ITIL framework.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and troubleshoot complex batch jobs and online transactions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
