Overview
Greet and assist customers in locating and selecting hardware products such as tools, paint, plumbing, electrical supplies, and construction materials.
Responsibilities
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations and product information to meet customer needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of shelves, displays, and stock areas.
- Handle product inquiries, returns, and exchanges professionally.
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system and process transactions accurately.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory counts and replenishment.
- Coordinate with suppliers or the purchasing department regarding stock requirements.
- Ensure compliance with store safety and operational standards.
- Support sales targets by promoting new or featured products.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or college level (any business or technical course is a plus).
- With experience in a hardware store or retail environment (e.g., Ace Hardware, Handyman, True Value).
- Strong knowledge of hardware tools, building materials, and home improvement products.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift or move moderate loads.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
