Job summary

Satellite Office in Manila seeks a Lighting Design Engineer with 5+ years in lighting applications to create complex designs for clients and design offices, performing calculations, specifying luminaires, and producing visualizations.

You will apply lighting standards, support city lighting reconstruction studies, collect on-site data, draft technical notes, and deliver staff/customer trainings with a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• MSC degree in electric engineering or equivalent studies preferable in lighting technology.
• Languages: English (B2) and local language.
• Software knowledge: lighting design software Ulysse, Dialux, Relux and/or similar; AutoCAD, Revit and 3DMax.
• Proficient in MS Office; strong communication and client‑facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Create complex lighting designs for external Design offices/Clients and Sales representative/Sales manager.
• Provide complex lighting calculations according to requirements with inputs analyses and alternative proposals.
• Support city lighting reconstruction studies with data collection and analysis.
• Apply relevant lighting standards in all designs and proposals.
• Develop and deliver product training/presentations for staff and customers.
• Collaborate with international groups and Sales support teams.

Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Makes design and calculations for projects with the aim of optimizing the product choice according to

the customer's needs in close cooperation with Sales Team.

Being recognized as expert and reference point for the Schréder Group in the domain of Lighting

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Main responsibilities within the job (non-exhaustive list):

1. Create complex lighting designs for external Design offices/Clients and Sales representative/Sales manager. Lighting designs may include:

• request analyses (availability of all necessary input parameters, if request is in accordance with norms, suggest alternative proposals in accordance with good lighting practise)
• lighting calculations performed within in house or external lighting software,
• luminaire specifications and descriptions
• elaboration of alternative proposals
• technical application notes (technical reports),
• drawings with luminaire disposition and all necessary details and/or visualizations.

2. Provide complex lighting calculations according to the requirements:

• inputs parameters analyses
• perform lighting calculations and analyses with alternative proposals and/or competitor analyses.

3. Provide necessary support in creation of city lighting reconstruction studies:

• inputs parameters analyses (road geometry, existing lighting installation, road categorization),
• on-site data collection
• determination of typical street profiles in accordance with road geometry and lighting class
• perform lighting calculations and analyses with alternative proposals and/or competitor analyses.

Prepare street lighting categorization proposal, perform lighting calculations and analyses with alternative proposals in cooperation with direct Manager / responsible Sales rep/ Sales manager.

4. Consideration and application of the relevant lighting standards.

5. Develops, implements and/or delivers product training / presentations for staff and customers (e.g. Ulysse training, ...) according to their needs.

6. Group related tasks

• Supports the Schréder-members of international organisations (e.g. CIE, CEN, ISO) by giving feedback from local regulations and norms.
• Professional exchange within group lighting applications and Group Technical Sales support Team

Knowledge, skills & abilities

Education:

• MSC degree in electric engineering or equivalent studies preferable in lighting technology

Knowledge and Skills:

• Languages : English (B2) + local language
• Software knowledge: lighting design (group lighting design software Ulysse, Dialux, Relux and/or similar), visualisation within available tools, graphics design (AutoCAD, Revit and 3DMax)
• Knowledge of electronics

Experience
