Your impact
- Delivering life safety and security systems design and suggesting solutions to complex cross-discipline problems.
- Preparing life safety and security systems drawings using CAD/BIM software (Revit, Navisworks).
- Preparing BIM models of LSS design installation.
- Checking and supporting life safety and security systems calculations in dedicated software.
- Writing or updating technical specifications, basis of design, and bill of materials.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and proposing other optimizations of design.
- Identifying constructability issues as well as construction and operation safety issues.
- Leading a team responsible for delivering assigned tasks on time, coordinated, and in good quality.
- Leading work planning, managing budget and change, and reporting progress of the design team.
- Coordinating design within own team, with engineers of other disciplines and other stakeholders.
- Coordinating work product for compliance with standards, checking the quality of work of other team members and providing formal sign-off.
- Performing self-checks and formal checks, and being prepared to answer audit questions.
- Traveling for business, alone or in a group.
- Supporting life safety and security team members on BIM specific processes and procedures.
- Sharing experience, providing support, and mentoring junior and mid-level staff.
- Setting custom standards for team communication and collaboration for a specific project.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable building regulations and design standards.
- Contacting a customer, performing presentations for a customer, facilitating meetings.
- Licensed signing and stamping design documentation for the location covered by the license.
Here’s what you’ll need
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, telecom engineering or equivalent.
- 15-20 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced knowledge of BIM applications (including Revit, Navisworks, MicroStation), BIM Standards and Microsoft Office.
- English language skills including technical language, advanced business writing skills.
- Well organized, responsible, good team player, good communication skills, self-confidence, mentoring attitude.
- Ability and willingness to travel for business, conduct meetings with clients or provide on-site support during construction.
- Advanced knowledge of life safety and security systems standards and building codes (USA and/or EU) and basic knowledge of other engineering disciplines.
- Professional license.
- Experience in leading large-scale projects.
- Experience in working with design budgets and budget forecasting.
