MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs physical/chemical and instrumental analysis on samples collected from the water sources, waste water treatment plants, sewerage/sanitation system, private entities and other offices as submitted.
- Prepares and standardizes solutions needed for the assigned analysis
- Operates simple equipment and complex instruments as authorized.
- Resolves technical problems encountered in the analysis of samples.
- Reports status of inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Participates in the Quality Assurance by applying and continually improving the Quality Control Program for the analyses/techniques and initiating corrective action when quality control data do not meet pre-established control and warning limits.
- Maintains and updates Analysis drafts and logbooks, Work Environment Monitoring, Equipment Monitoring Checklists and other relevant forms and records in the Waste Water lab on a regular basis.
- Conducts simple laboratory equipment preventive maintenance and troubleshooting when needed.
- Performs laboratory housekeeping with adherence to safety practices and proper waste disposal.
- Prepares draft of regular and special reports required by the Head of Waste Water.
- Complies on laboratory programs pertaining to quality, sustainability and resiliency.
- Adheres to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and Good Laboratory Practice.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Graduate of BS Chemistry
Licensed Chemist
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferably with background on laboratory Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Control Charting, Estimation of Measurement Uncertainty and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
